End time Signs #3

Good morning on this blustery morning....it is 61 degrees.... Reports on TV it will start raining this morning and drop to 4o's this afternoon and cooler tonight. Well, NO recess today at school:( The kids will not be very happy about that. Ok sign #3 Increase of wars, famines, and earthquakes.....there has always been wars, but it is on the increase with seemlying no answer as to how to stop......earthquakes so destructive that it makes us feel the earth is in birthpains....Many losing jobs and there is increased hunger in America.....Matt. 24:6 says....BUT the end is not yet. When God is going to do something "wonderful" in our lives, He starts with a difficulty. When God is going to do something "Very Wonderful" he starts with an impossibility! ....The end does not mean "that is all". It is the end of that part of the plan.....we still have the 1,000 years of peace with Jesus and the the new heaven and earth.....and on and on.....our puny little minds cannot understand what God has for us. So, when you hear about all these things happening, don't be afraid!!!....just look up and be encouraged!!! This is another part of the puzzel, and God has all the pieces. Be blessed!!! End Times

Good morning....#2 Increase in crime and disregard for law.....I was just listening to the news....murder, rape, robberies, ..... and it is not just adults....young people, and children involved in these crimes. I remember as a child feeling safe to walk to town several miles, to leave our doors open, raise the windows as we slept....NEVER in my life time would I have thought I would see the things that are happening.....AND WE ARE IN THE BEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD. These things were perdicted in God's word as His time draws near. Matt. 24:12 And because iniquity shall abound the love of many shall wax cold. Luke 18:8 says God will be there for his people, but will he find faith? We need to stand true and strong in what we believe. 2 Tim. 1-5 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. Men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false acc;users, incontinent, fierce despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof. WOW! I just read the today newpaper. Satan knows his time is short and he has an all out war, but guess what! We have read the end of the book and if we stand true WE WIN!!!Have a blessed Day!

Are we in the Last days?

Good morning! It is 6:30AM. It is a great day that the Lord has made!!! Robert E. and I have been talking about a subject....Are we in the end times? We have been reading books, viewing tapes of trusted Bible teachers, and studying on our own.....Actually, Robert has been doing this for many years. I love every part of the Bible, but Revelations is difficult to understand....and I would read it but not study it as much as other parts of the Bible. I am really becoming interested...and if you do not mind, I will share some of the information I am learning. Actually, I discoved I knew most of it, but it does not hurt to remind ourselves. The scripture says, you will receive a blessing just by reading the Book of Revelations 1:3. If you have a comment or a nugget of truth you want to share with me, please do. If you want to come over and study with us, come on over. I am getting excited just typing about this. I have noticed as people get older, they begain in think in terms of "well, my days and time are short here on this earth", and they sit around waiting for the end.....but I do not want to get to that state of mind. I want to keep learning and keep busy sharing with people that there is a better way to live and that is serving Jesus Christ!!!! One thing that stirred me up was the "LEFT BEHIND series. I read all 14 books, and loved them. Even though many many have read these books and accepted the Lord or renewed their faith. These books "may" be giving false hope to some that do not want to live for the Lord now. As I have heard some say, "Oh, I will wait and not take the "mark of the beast" and I will be saved. But the scripture does not say everyone will have a chance. I will get into some sciptures on that...... So, are we in the end times. Let me share some scriptures, and you decide for yourself. #1. Increase in false prophets and religious compromise in the church.Matt 24:4-5 And Jesus said unto them, take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name saying, I am Christ, and shall deceive you.
Vs. 24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; inso much that if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Other scriptures are: Luke 18:8; 2 Thes. 2:3; 1 Tim. 4:1; 2 Tim. 3:1,13; 4:3-4; 2 Pet. 2:1-3; 3:3-4. Hope these scriptures inspire you to join we in this study. I will share more later today..time to get ready and go to work. Have a great day!!!! :) Nancy

Grandparents Part 2

Well, where do I start. Papaw Keith was a tall, sweet, fun loving person. He loved to whistle and sing. One song he always would sing was "IdaRed". When I was little, he carried me every where. They told him if he did not let me walk by myself I would never learned to walk. He smoked a pipe. One day (I never learned why) he decided to stop smoking. From that day forward he always had a pack of Juicy Fruit gum. I would pat his shirt pocket and he would give me a piece. In 1927 when my dad was about 10 years old Pa and Ma open a grocery store, Keith's Grocery. It was at a cross roads, and was a community stopping place. I remember sitting out front leaning back in a chair. Pa and I would have a pan of peas or butterbeans shelling them waiting for a customer for groceries or gas from the one pump. (gas was about$.19) Ma loved me, but was not one to show it. She would just do things for me. She made my clothes from flour sack material. I followed her around going to get the eggs in the chicken coop, to milk the cows, and work in the garden. She was allllwayssssss working..... picking berries to make jelly, making homemade sausage, ect..She taught me how to clean a chicken and cut it up to fry, and many other things...She never went to church unless it was a funeral. She was always too busy. Before she died, David went to see her in the hospital and prayed with her. My papaw went to church, read his Bible, and had a place in the woods where he would go to pray. They were community people. Had the first car. Always had something cooking and NEVER let anyone go away hungry. Before they had a car, Ma would load her wagon with produce, eggs and chickens and go to Laurel and sell them. One time she stopped at a lady's house. The lady thought Ma was not good enough to come in and asked her not to stand on the porch. Ma had customers that bought from her for years, but she never stopped at that house again. Ma and Pa did not have a fan, telephone, tv, indoor bathroom......but it was peaceful, interesting, and just a wonderful place to be. I think that is why I love the"Mayberry" program on TV. It is the nearest thing to my life in the country. I just have so many good happy memories.......running and playing with my cousins and neighbors kids, eating cold watermelon on a hot day, climbing the pear tree, eating sweet peas out of the garden, picking cotten for spending money, fishing in the creek, and playing in the cemetary across the road. Life was simple....as we heard the rooster crow each morning....we knew it was time to get up because another "adventure" was about to happen. Love you and miss you Ma and Pa!!

Grandparents Part 1

Reb asked me to share some storys of my life growing up. so, let's start by talking about my grandparents. My mom's mom died when mom was 11. Her name was Mary Agalene Nicholos(birthday Sept 7). She married Albert Sidney Austin(birthday July 27). Grandmother Austin died at age 49 of cancer. They had 9 children(3 still living). She was a very godly woman, and before she died she prayed with each one of her children. Then she asked one of the children to go to the well and get her a cool drink of water. Grand pa Austin died when I was about eight years old. All I remember about him was that he was a very short man. Every morning he would walk over a dirt road and pasture to our house to drink coffee with mom. I have no other memorys of him. If you know anything about Laurel, the street is 13th ave. The old trees are still there on 13th ave right near a church where he lived in a little house that my Uncle Andrew built for him. Grandpa was a farmer then when he moved to Laurel he became a brick mason. He mainly built steps and chimneys. I knew my dad's parent very well. We lived with them for short periods of time until dad started his radio business in Laurel and paid $150 for a two room house on 14th Ave. Later we moved up the street to a 3 room house and dad built two more rooms after David and Jim was born. My room was a space near one of the bedrooms and our one bathroom....about the size of my walk in closet that I have now. Don't feel sorry for me, because I loved living on 14th Ave. I had one window that I would sit and look up in the sky and think about the Lord and how to live for Him. We had wonderful friends and neighbors and best of all I was just down the road from my church. I would run to church and sit on the top step waiting for someone to open the door. Someone teasing me said "we need to give you a key to open the door." For years I looked for my key, but no one gave it to me. As a parent and teacher, I have always had that in the back of my mind. In dealing with children "always try to keep your word." One wonderful thing that has happened two years ago. My cousin Dan doing research on the Austin family found decendants of Grandpa Austin. It is the decendants of his brother, Purcell Austin. We knew of him as Uncle Boose. We found out they were having a reunion in Jackson,Ms. and they invited our family to come be with them. WOW!!! WOW!!! What a blessing to meet these folks. Thank you for inviting us. We are looking forward to the next "get together." Tomorrow I will talk about my dad's parents....have a blessed day!!!
